
Jamie Ellsworth is a litigation attorney with over 15 years of experience representing clients in complex disputes with a strong focus on intellectual property litigation, insurance coverage and defense, and complex civil litigation. Her practice combines technical insight with strategic litigation skills, developed through years of representing clients ranging from individuals to major corporations.
Jamie has substantial experience in patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright litigation including as part of a trial team that secured a jury verdict, enhanced damages, attorney’s fees, and a permanent injunction in a federal patent infringement case involving railroad inspection technology. She has helped clients protect and enforce rights in cutting-edge technologies, including DNA sequencing and analysis, non-contact infrared thermometry, and machine vision systems. Her appellate work includes helping to overturn a multi-million-dollar verdict and invalidate a patent, securing a major win.
In addition to her IP practice, Jamie frequently advises and represents clients in matters involving non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, unfair competition, and employee mobility disputes. Her insurance work spans a wide variety of areas including coverage disputes and insurance defense involving auto liability, construction defect, premises liability, and complex CERCLA actions. She is well-versed in all phases of litigation – from pre-suit evaluation and discovery though dispositive motions, trial, and appeal.
Jamie also served as Legal Director of the Idaho Innocence Project, where she led complex post-conviction litigation and re-investigations into wrongful conviction claims, with a focus on habeas corpus and forensic science.
She holds a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and a B.S. in Microbiology from Idaho State University. Jamie is admitted to practice in Idaho, Washington (inactive), and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
